With an experience in excess of 20 years in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, Dr. Pande has performed more than 600 open heart surgeries. Dr. Pande specialize in coronary artery disease and perform the whole spectrum of bypass operation (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting). Thus, offering the state of art Off pump CABG with Total arterial grafts and through a minimal invasive method (Minimally Invasive CABG). He has stared the robotic CABG in the department. Apart from best of practice in CAD, Dr. Pande specialize in pediatric cardiac surgery performing neonatal and complex congenital operations. He has a keen interest in operating Right ventricular outflow tract in pediatric population. Autologous pericardium has been used as a valve in pulmonary position with good long-term result. He has been the lead surgeon in the two largest coronary artery surgery trial from the institution, viz; CORONAY Trail and STICH trial. Dr. Pande was awarded FRCS from England in 2016. He is also conducting a mentorship program each quarter for Minimally Invasive CABG in the department since 2016.
Dr. Pande is also very active in research in the field of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery with 91 publications with 350 citations and h factor of 11 and i10 of 12. I have research interest in development of tissue valve, right heart function and coronary artery surgery. I have been awarded travel grant to present my scientific work in international conference by DST, DBT and international societies.
Dr. Pande graduated (MBBS) and specialized in surgery (MS) from King Georges Medical College, Lucknow. He completed his training in CVTS from Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences. He is member of specialist task force for developing the protocols for management of cardiac diseases by ICMR. He is also a member for deciding the packages for Cardiac surgery under Ayushmanbharat scheme. He has following fellowships and memberships of prestigious societies.
